When I started this story, I was writing about American manufacturing.
But as the story continues, I realize the American companies I’ve been focusing on are also making great boats.
And they are.

In the U.S., there are more than a dozen companies that make everything from jet skis to cars.
But if you look at the list of the top 10 most important American companies in the world, the top three are all owned by Americans.
